A regular face at Vapors gigs up and down the country is Northern based fan Docs, one of many fans who was too young to see the band the first time around and is making up for it since they reformed. Ladies and gents, meet Docs…
Name?
Dave Daniels, nickname ‘Docs’. I’m known as ‘Docs’ to most people and was called that on Facebook ‘til I was blocked and had to prove my name was Docs. I used to be called ‘Docker’ but everyone shortens it now and it’s not very interesting why I got called that. Ask me at a gig!
Date of birth/Age?
28/3/1966, 53
Hometown?
Fleetwood, Lancashire
Current home?
Fleetwood
How did you hear of The Vapors first?
Turning Japanese on the radio
When did you first see them live?
3 years ago at Dingwalls. I booked tickets then couldn’t get the time off work but, even if I’d have got warning at work, I was still going to that gig! So I had to finish at 3 then jump on a 4 o’clock train arriving in London for 6. When they started playing I couldn’t even describe it but could feel tears in my eyes for something I thought I would never see happen, an absolutely amazing night…
New Clear Days or Magnets?
Can’t decide, both different
Favourite Vapors track?
When I first bought the albums it was Spring collection but I’d struggle to find any I didn’t like.
Best time you’ve seen them?
Dingwalls will always be special, but Portmerion 2019 was up there
Best Vapors moment/memory?
Seeing them at Dingwalls for first time.
Hopes for the future of the band?
The new album to come out.
Other favourite bands:
New Model Army, The Pogues, Green On Red, R.E.M plus too many others to name. Very eclectic from ABBA to Sex Pistols.
Cheers Docs, see you on the road…
