Fan Focus – Par Engstrom

For many fans of the band, their first online discovery about The Vapors was the legendary website ‘Secret Noise’ run by a long-term fan called Par Engstrom from Sweden. It featured interviews, a detailed worldwide discography, lyrics, photos and a guestbook which was often frequented by actual band members! In those pre-Facebook days, it was amazing to actually interact with any of those guys, or other fans around the world, even if it was only in the virtual world. So, thanks to Par for his foresight setting up his website. Let’s hear about his history with the band…

How did you hear of The Vapors first?

I first heard them (TJ) on a Swedish radio rock/pop chart show, “Tio i topp” (Ten at the top)

London 2016, Dingwalls, London

New Clear Days or Magnets?

Hard question, maybe the non US/Canada release of NCD because of the songs “America” and “Cold War”

Best time you’ve seen them?

Portmeirion 2017 because of the ambience and intimate venue, not the snow on the roads in Wales to get there.

London 2016, Dingwalls, London, never thought I’d live to see them live:-)

Hopes for the future of the band?

Keep on touring and to get a new generation of fans, and a fourth album

Uriah Heep, Arena, Sparks, Status Quo, Beatles, Kinks, Kayak, Jethro Tull, Sweet, It Bites, The Ark, Stray, Lonely robot, Etc. Etc.
