More shows confirmed

As promised, we can now bring you news of three more gigs coming up in the next few months. There are two more shows with special guests Eddie Roxy & The Adjacent Kings. Firstly, a matinee show on Sunday 19th April at the Facebar in Reading (tickets here). Secondly, the band play at the Fiery Bird in Woking on Friday 24th April (tickets here). March Brighton show

We’re pleased to announce the first of a short run of gigs this spring with Eddie Roxy (ex Department S) and his new band Eddie Roxy & The Adjacent Kings. The first date is a matinee show on Sunday 29th March at Daltons in Brighton (which is right on the beach under the zipline). The gig will start at 2pm & be an early finish if people need to travel home afterwards. Tickets are onsale now here and more gig news coming soon…

229 drummer update

We’re pleased to welcome Mike Kelly (website) who will be joining us on drums for the show at the 229 in London on Saturday 11th October.

Mike is a highly experienced and versatile drummer who has toured extensively with bands including The Mission, Spear Of Destiny, Theatre of Hate, Lotus Eaters and We Fell To Earth, as well as featuring on hundreds of recorded works with many of those bands and others, and has even recorded with musicians from Manic Street Preachers, Steely Dan and Depeche Mode mode to mention a few.… Read the rest

229 show update

Many of you will be aware that Secret Affair have unfortunately had to pull out of our co-headline show at The 229 in London on Saturday 11th October.

We will, however, still be playing the gig and we’re pleased to be able to announce that we’ll have support from two class acts. Michael Bowes: statement

We’re delighted to report that Michael is now back home, being cared for by family, and is determined to make a full and complete recovery. Sadly, we need to inform you that Michael will no longer be performing with The Vapors.

It goes without saying that we’d like to thank Michael for everything he’s given to the band and to everyone around us over the past nine and a half years. He’ll not be a stranger to us, and we fully hope to see him grinning back at us from in front of the stage soon.… Read the rest

Update on Michael

As you will be aware, Michael was taken ill and hospitalised early in the Lost 80s Live tour in the USA. We have just heard that he has now been discharged from hospital and is being well looked after by friends. He’s full of positivity and gathering strength …

He’d like to extend his thanks, love and gratitude to all those who have sent love, thoughts, prayers and whatever else, and those who have cared for him so well these past two weeks.… Read the rest

Update from the US

As many of you are already aware, Michael Bowes was taken ill at the end of last night’s Lost 80’s Live show.

Michael was treated on the spot and taken to hospital, where he is conscious and communicating normally. He will remain there for tests, and the rest of the band will be continuing on for the rest of the tour as planned.
