Steve recently found a small cash book in a box of band-related paperwork in his house. The book originally belonged to Dave and he had methodically entered income and expenditure during the early 1978 to mid 1979, the point when the band signed to UA records. Whilst outgoings were related to petrol, roadies’ pay, promo photos, van hire and recording costs, the incoming funds were from gigs. This Saturday’s Bristol show at the Thekla is an early one as there’s a club night after meaning it’s a 10pm curfew. Doors are at 7, special guests Sharp Class onstage at 7.30 and The Vapors at 8.15. The band’s eagerly awaited 11 date UK tour kicks off next weekend with a run of 3 shows in Liverpool, Birmingham & Newcastle. In Feb, they head north of the border for Dundee & Glasgow gigs, then it’s Colchester & Bristol and on to Manchester & Leeds.
