Mike Philpott’s wonderful book about his life trailing The Vapors has just been published as a deluxe, expanded hardback. Bringing the original 2019 text fully up to the present day, Mike has added almost a hundred extra pages. In addition, there are three sections of photos, a newly designed dust jacket and a introduction by Vapors ally & former drummer in The Chords, Brett ‘Buddy’ Ascott. Following the band’s penultimate gig in Worthing last night, the final gig in the diary for 2022 is the long-awaited Portmeirion weekend at the end of November. Always a hugely anticipated event in the Vapors’ calendar, this year promises to live up to the high expectations with a packed weekend of live music and events.

Exactly 6 years ago today, the newly reformed band played their first gig in 35 years at the Opium Rooms in Dublin. That show was part of a 4 date mini tour (plus a secret Guildford warm up) to test audience response to their reformation. The tour was a huge success, confirming that there was a big potential audience out there, even after all that time. The rest is history…

We can confirm that the special guests for five dates on the 2023 tour are Nottingham based power trio Sharp Class. They will be playing at the Liverpool, Birmingham, Newcastle, Bristol & Guildford shows.
