Anyone who came to the Brighton show tonight will be aware that Michael was taken ill early in the set.
Firstly, and most importantly, Michael was upright, chatting and full of apologies for letting people down before he was taken to hospital for checks. He hasn’t let anyone down of course, but right now our thoughts are with our bandmate, and we’re sure you’ll join us in wishing him the speediest of recoveries.
In the meantime, we unfortunately have no choice but to postpone tomorrow’s Bristol gig. We will be rearranging both tonight’s Brighton show and the Bristol show as soon as we possibly can and all tickets purchased for both shows will be valid for the replacement gigs.
Nevertheless, we are very aware that people will have made travel bookings and arrangements, and we sincerely apologise for the issues that we know that will cause.
Another familiar face at gigs is that of Suzanne, avid fan, t-shirt designer and maker of incredible band-themed decorations. Over to Suzanne to tell you more about herself…
The website discography page has now been fully brought up to date, detailing all the band’s releases to date. All of download only singles and Wasp In A Jar have now been added, all with links to listen on Spotify. You can find the discography page here
Today is national Wasp In A Jar day! After many months wait (and a huge amount of work behind the scenes), the band’s fourth album is unleashed on the world today. Following a hugely successful Crowdfunder campaign last year, the band recorded the album in the USA in the summer with long term friend & collaborator Michael Giblin behind the controls. The vinyl album features twelve tracks, with a couple more on the CD, every one a catchy classic, all unmistakably The Vapors.
We would like to thank everyone involved in making the dream of a fourth album a reality. Notable mentions must go to the teams at Absolute, Red Chuck Records and Music Glue, anyone who bought a Crowdfunder reward or pre-ordered the album and especially to a particular person, Mike Philpott, that pulled the whole project together from start to finish. Huge thanks to you all. Now sit back and enjoy the album…it’s a cracker! 🐝🐝🐝
On Sunday 23rd, the band appeared on BBC Radio London on Gaby Roslin’s show where they were interviewed and even played an acoustic track. You can hear the show here for 30 days on catch up (listen from 1 hour 8 minutes)
