Due to the ongoing COVID19 pandemic, this year’s Mods Mayday has been postponed until Saturday 3rd October. The event has also been paired down to a single day and, sadly, The Vapors will not now be appearing as they are playing their own headline gig in Glasgow that night. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Early fan and former Barbed Wire fanzine writer Alan Fred Pipes has uploaded a brilliant set of photos from 1979 to Flickr. The photos capture the band at various live gigs, from small local shows around Guildford to larger venues whilst supporting The Jam on the Setting Sons tour in the autumn. There are also some shots in the studio taken during the Turning Japanese session as well as ones in a car park with a Morris 1000! They’re a unique set of pictures and we’d like to thank Alan for posting them. Check out the photos here

Ahead of the release of the band’s third album Together, the title track is now available as a download only single here. Like the download single Crazy before it, the track Together is another Vapors anthem, featuring all the hallmarks of the band’s sound that we all love…

Also, as with Crazy, for all the collectors out there, available below is a free downloadable picture sleeve for the Together single which you can print out at home. So, if you burn your download of the track onto a CD, you can enclose it in the picture sleeve giving you a physical copy of the single.

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, it should come as no surprise that more of the remaining From The Jam Setting Sons 40th Anniversary tour gigs have been postponed until the summer. Sadly, with The Vapors’ commitments on the Lost 80s Live tour in the USA, they are not able to appear as special guests on some of the new dates. Details of the shows that The Vapors will be appearing at will be shown in the gig listing on the left hand column. Apologies if you are attending one of the shows that the band can no longer play…

We have just heard this from From The Jam about this weekend’s Scottish dates:

It is with much regret the decision has been made to postpone the shows in Scotland planned for this week. Other gigs may follow suit.
With the current health situation we have been advised to reschedule them for later in the year.

This decision has not been taken lightly as it affects a lot of livelihoods and all of the team hates cancelling as we know the disappointment and inconvenience it causes. We are working on getting new dates and the team will announce these once confirmed.

At this time of global uncertainty we hope you will understand why the decision been taken, everyone’s health and wellbeing had to take priority.

In the meantime, stay safe, healthy, happy and be nice to one another.
